The Bending Project Update

Less than a month into the bending project and my sativa plant has grown so much. Her branches and stem have thickened up and have started to develop bark. I have been able to remove the brace that was placed at the base of the stem and she can hold herself up on her own without leaning too far over. I have also done some extensive topping and pruning that has turned her into a nice size bush.

Since the soil holds a lot of water I have choose to start foliage spraying her a few times a week so I can get more nutrients to her. I have also carefully watched to make sure mold doesn't develop.

Lowering the pH

When I transplanted my plant I added some fresh organic soil that we had picked up to help fill in the pot and then my pH spiked up to an 8 so before it could do damage to my plant I looked for a way to fix my pH problem.

I got my bottle that I store my water in added a cap full of my special ash to the water and tested the pH it came out to 6.8- 7 range next since I don’t have the money to go out and by lime or pH down I went online and found out that saw dust and wood chips would help so I went out collected up some and added a layer on top and watered her till I got some run off.

I retested the pH of soil afterwards and after only one treatment the soil pH had gone back down to the 6.5 -6.8 I’m going to continue to monitor the pH and make adjustments as needed.


[Update] it has been two days and only one treatment the pH dropped back down into the proper range and I had to remove as much of the sawdust and wood chips that where left on top to prevent further drop of the pH.

The Bending Project

At the beginning of this month I topped and then transplanted my sativa plant into a 5 gallon pot and gave her fresh organic potting soil. At 73 days she was 15” tall and I want to continue her in veg for a while longer but I was going to run out of room fast so I decided it was time to start my bending project

Using small metal loops that I attached to the pot I started half way up the plant and used a natural rope tied loosely around the stem to start bending it back and used 2 sticks to support the stem. Then I attached a string an inches up I attached a second string to start the bend over process over the next few days I tied the strings down till I could attach 2 strings to the top branches and separate them out so they wouldn`t be so close together and get more light to all the branches.

Since I have started this project I have noticed the stem getting much thicker and stronger and branches that once was growing very slowly have now thickened up and have started growing much faster branches and one on the bottom have grown up and snaked around so they could get closer to the light.


My plan for the end of this month is to pinch the tops and branch her out more. I will bend the branches around to form a nice solid bush.

So I picked up this tasty treat at HLC Bellingham the flavor was amazing the 2 flavors complemented each other nicely and you could really taste the medication in it. I also love the fact that they used medicated coconut oil instead of butter. The only down side to this one was the popcorn was a bit soggy. I ended up putting half the bag in a bowl and microwaved it for 30 sec and it got warm and spicy and I loved it! I got 2 servings out of this bag.

I picked up this tasty little nug from HLC Bellingham a few days ago as a treat after work. The smell was amazing and it gave me a great head high just what I needed after a long day at work.

So I was looking for a new travel sized bong that would be easier to take with me since I am always on the go and some times smoking out pipe is just not an option. This pipe is neat it is small enough to sit in my cup holder and not move around. It is a glass on glass down stem with a bowl piece attached so there isn't anything extra I have to worry about getting knocked off and lost in my car. It also has a carb on the back that took me a minute to get use to but it was a lot easier than having to pull the entire stem piece out of the bong and it also saves the stem from an accidental drops or breaking.

This was a very tasty strain I enjoyed it a lot gave me a really nice buzz and when I smoked it while I was watching tv last night and I fell asleep very early.  During the day when I was up moving around it helped stimulate my appetite.
